Help!!!
I have a 2000 Jeep GC (4.0L) and this week I've started having troubles.
I am receiving 4 trouble codes and I'm not sure exactly what they mean and need advice about specific items I should check and the BEST way to get them corrected.
I have had no work performed on my jeep recently. One day I was driving and the dashboard light with the key in the circle with a line through it came on then my dash gauges when out. The truck stalled. I restarted the truck and everything was fine.
This happened a few more times, with and without the engine stalling, and has progressed to the Information Center not relaying data, power windows not working, a/c not working, and the dashboard gauges work some of the time.
Here is what I have found out about the trouble codes:
P0783 - 3/4 Shift Solenoid: No RPM Drop at Lockup.
P1685 - SKIM Invalid Key: The engine controller has received an invalid key from the SKIM.
P1686 - No SKIM BUS Messages Received: No CCD/J1850 messages from the Smart Key Immobilizer Module (SKIM).
P1687 - No MIC BUS Message: No CCD/J1850 messages received from the Mechanical Instrument Cluster (MIC) module.
What should I do next that won't break the bank?
All help is appreciated.
