If you were a registered user, you would not be seeing this!

Hello everyone, I have a silly question. I'm loosing oil from the Oil Level Sensor. Can I just remove it and put a bolt on there for now until I get another one.
Any advice is greatly appreciated.

It's a 1993 Dodge Shawdow with a 2.5

My regards
Pete

Oil level sensor or oil pressure sensor? I don't believe the computer relies on information from the oil pressure sensor so you could plug the hole, assuming you have the correct thread/pitch bolt to put in there. I would not do this long term from the simple fact that if you have an oil pump failure or other major oil loss like the cam plug blowing out, you would have no warning.

It's 1/4 NPT, and I don't recommend removing it for much longer than driving to the parts store to pick up a new one. I bought one for $20 canadian at NAPA last year.
