If you were a registered user, you would not be seeing this!

Hi,

With my "lebaron purchase mistake" as i call it, have been thinking about buying something with what money i have left as a new yorker was my plan in the first place, just could never find one in the shape i wanted it to be in or the milage.

Well i talked to a women yesterday selling a 1987 2.2 turbo, suppose to be in decent shape with a cracked back bumper, slight shabby paint on the trunk, air is suppose to work but the belt is off, and digital dash problems for $600.

Now she doesnt know the Milage because the odometer has been out a long time.
if that was to be fixed, does it keep track of the milage somewhere else, to be displayed later?

And also she say's on part of the dash is out, so what are the main problems with this, she mentioned a fuse that might needed to be replaced?

I had a 1983 new yorker but it had a 2.6 mitsu & no digital dash, and it lasted till someone smashed me.

Thanks,

Steve

As I recall it tracked the mileage but only up to a certain point - whether that was 99,999 miles or something like 70,000, I can't recall.

Later cars tracked the mileage in the BCM, yours is stored in the cluster only and I think the limit is up to 200k before it resets.

As for the AC, I've never ever seen a car where the AC belt it off but the AC is still good. Why would the belt be gone if there wasn't a problem?

Ok well that makes sence, How about digital cluster problems, is there a fuse in the fuse box thaty runs it partial or is this somthing that can only be with in the dash it's self?

I'm just trying to see if its even worth a look, or i should just stay away.

You remember the Red '94 Lebaron LX I got from you? When I got it, the AC had no belt, but the AC worked.....Just wasn't replaced after the timing belt / water pump change on the 3.0 :P

I could have sworn I put the AC belt back on that car. Seriously, I thought I'd used the AC after the timing belt job. Guess I'm getting old.

Haha, I'm messing with ya! When I got it the AC didn't come on and I found that it had a missing belt, but you gave me a new one you'd bought to install, in a box with some other parts.
