I thought up a really cool idea the other day, and it would take some one way smarter than i to do it.

for all the TD people out there i think it would be neat if there was a web page with a map of the US and CA. where there would be little push pins for where everyone lives and then you could click on it and see pics and car details etc..

it would help with trip planing and just knowing the area where everyone is from. be kinda neat to see where the consentrated TD owners are.

What do you guys think? anyone here capable of doing something like this?

This is a great idea. It would take some database work and some website development. I've thought this through based on your idea and it would be really cool. There could be a 'state' or 'province' with a link to a graphic of only that 'section' with cities or other 'dots' that indicated someone had reported their presence. Then hover over one of the dots or push pins to see a list of who is there. Then click on one to display the page that details that person.

I bit of work but it would be cool.

thats's exactly right. i think it would be so cool to know where more TD's are around you.

what would be easy is have a map of the US and CA where you can click on a state or province and it bring s up just that location then you can see where everyone is located. also the main page could have a number representing the amount of people in that particular state. so you would know not to click on it if there is noone there.

Yes it would be easy to click on a 'hyperlink' graphic to display another page where the folks are located. Then click on one to get details or...

Click on the state or province and a page is displayed that will simply display a list of who, their car details and prehaps contact information as well as a 'calculation' as to how far they are away from your location.

This would be the easiest but it would still require some programming. The link page with the map is easy but when clicked to return the 'who's' there page would require a database.

The who's there page could even have links to the person's personal site or to a page that will display perhaps a picture and details about that person etc.

My plate is currently full and won't be able to do the programming for several months. Does anyone else have the time to put this together?

I remember a long time ago, some programmer made a website called... what was it...?? V8eater.com or something like that....... Oh wait a minute...!! I just found ourselves a domain name for it! Right?? HeeGa? :D

Actually, just to start something like that, I can help you guys out with my Website! But when and if it becomes a real portal type of thing, then we'll be in trouble. I'm really not good at advanced website designing. But, like I said, I may be able to do something with Flash maybe? It'll also give me the chance to try the new version....

So here it is:

IF ANYONE IS INTERESTED IN TRYING THIS OUT, AND WOULD LIKE TO HAVE THEIR NAME IN THE TEST SITE, SEND ME YOUR NICKNAME/NAME, CITY & STATE, AND YOUR RIDE!

PS: diabloed, what do you mean TD people... What are the TBI or MPI people gonna do? :o I think this is gonna turn out to be a K-car people with Daytona's, LeBaron's, Shadow's, Spirit's and etc...
