Stratus - What is meant by: "will be published for opposition on" ?

I believe that's the last step before an item is registered as a trademark to a company - there is a period of time where other companies are allowed to voice opposition or challenges to a trademark.

IIRC, Nissan opposed the use of "M80" because the Infiniti division used the "M" for one of their cars. Granted, they'd never have an "M80" model, but that's how it goes.

Toyota did the same - the Lincoln LS was to be marketed as the "LS6" and "LS8" - and since Lexus has an "LS"...you get the picture.

I thought it was the other way around with the M80 name. Wasn't it Nissan asking if they could use it and Chrysler saying no? It would have been a good name for the Skyline if it had gone through Infinity dealers...

I remember the LS thing. It was in direct response of Ford not allowing Toyota to call it's new truck the T-150. So we got Tundra's instead.

I think the best name for the Skyline in the US would be "Skyline." ;)

Oh brother!!! :(

it turns out they got another name for the Crew. Although, I am not sure "Dodge Journey" really sounds any less inane!

Good to see they kickekd a few trademarks over to the new company.

As for Trailhawk, possibly just a way to keep using the name with the concept vehicle? Trying to avoid another case of the Dodge Copperhead Dodge Concept Car?

Perhaps the folks at Nissan tasted Cincinnati's infamous Skyline Chili and decided they had come up with something anything else... :o
I've had Skyline chili... once... and only once, but perhaps it's an acquired taste. Some people -god help them- really like it. :)

NASSAU was registered to Chrysler LLC on 4/29/08.

Chili, much like BBQ sauces and styles, differ around the country and is part of what makes food a great thing to experience. :)

Wouldn't be the first time, I think Honda used to have a three valve engine. Guess it's a way to avoid VVT in the new 3.8/4.0.

Mitsubishi built many three valved "hemi" heads, especially in the 1.6, 2.0 and 2.6 early 80's.
