If you were a registered user, you would not be seeing this!

Just found that dodge.com has info on the Caliber. Starting at under $14K. (estimate)
R/T starting under $18K

Click on the caliber section on the bottom and it will take you to the build it area.
This is getting exciting.

AWD is almost a $3K add on. ouch.
Interesting it mentions a Hybrid for an additional $3360 and a turbo diesel for $5155. Note the following is the disclaimer (*Preliminary option and pricing information only. HYBRID!?!? That isn't something I've heard before either. I'm glad to see the diesel there though.

And where is the CVT on AWD models? All I see is 4 speed auto. :huh:

the diesel is only for export cars. :(

it also raises the price by an astonishing 5500 dollars. raising the base price to an uncomfortably high 19 grand for a base se model.

i guess the whole 'want in one hand..." thing still holds true.

Diesel just for exports is what I've been hearing all along.

Strange it would be on the "American" Dodge site though, with a price to go with it.

i dont get it, its been explained to me before, but i guess i am ignoring it because, well..

i want one Dangit. i'll just never spend 25 grand(for a few toys) for an entry level dodge product! maybe in 10-15 years, but not whenever i can get a liberty crd for that price.

oh well, i guess an se with a 1.8/mt might have to do.

Yeah, I like the Blue also.

Was just on there again and the pricing has changed.
Base is now about a grand higher as well the other two models.
Didn't take long to make that change.
I wonder if they are just fishing to see what people are building and what they will pay?

The diesel price and hybrid price are up a few hundred bucks also.
Starting to price this out of what I am willing to pay for it.

Some of the specs are a little weird, like the 2.4L 16V DOHC I-4 for R/T having 134 HP @ 4000 and 229 lb-ft @ 1750. The numbers look completely appropriate if it were a diesel...

I built my R/T and it came out just under $21,000.00. They do state the info on the site is preliminary. Not all of it is set in stone. I think they are just trying to get peoples reactions.

Did anyone see the Gas Electric Hybrid Option?

I mize well mention it hear like I did down in the News and Rumors section - When I state DID ANYONE see it? I am just curious to see why everyone is being SO - AHHH OLD HAT about the fact the DCX is offering a small hybrid...

ITS NOT THAT I DIDNT READ the past posts... I just dont see too many people posting up quotes with the Hybrid included.... WHERE ARE ALL THE HONDA AND TOYOTA fans to see this :lol:

ya, i did, mine in the blue with the 2.4l, pricing was reasonable i thought for AWD, and other stuff it was low 20's

specially since an ignorant friend of mine payed $23,000 for a 05 ford focus sedan with 3000 miles on it and base interior, from a kia dealership.

You can *easily* spec out a nicely equipped SXT for under 20 grand. A little judicious trimming of the option list, and sub-18k is very reachable.
