Cherokee 2.8 V6

It's me again. This time can you tell me about 1988 cherokee 2.8 V6 with automatic transmission?
is it a good machine? How many HP it has?
Which one it better? 2.5l manual or 2.8 V6 automatic?

You're better off getting a Cherokee with either a 2.5 litre 4-cyl or a 4.0 litre inline six. The 2.8 litre V6 was borrowed from GM and is notorious for excessive oil leaks, I think it was rated only at 120 horsepower. The other two engines will give better power and fuel economy, since both since the late 80s were equipped with fuel injection. The 2.8 was carbureted.

BTW, both the 2.5 and the 4.0 could be had with a 5-spd manual. As far as automatic transmissions the 2.5 came with a 3-spd, the 4.0 a 4-spd OD auto.

2.5 litre= 120- 125 H.P.

4.0 litre= 177-190 H.P.

A 1988 Jeep Cherokee wouldn't have a 2.8L V6. The last year for the 2.8L V6 was 1986 The only 6 cylinder a 1988 would have is a 4.0L inline six.
