I have run into a a problem. One of my junior Marines recently recieved a ticket for going 130 in a 2005 dodge ram 1500 v 6. Now when i get in the truck it cuts off at 95 mph. I have called the corporation and visited all the dealers in the area and no one can actually tell me or show me on paper what the engine is governed at. Please if there is anyone out there who has the facts please, please help me.

Most newer vehicles will shut down before 100 MPH because of ECM because of tire safety speed ratings of OEM tires. Beside I seriously doubt that the truck can even do 115 let along 130 because the amount of power required to overcome drag climbs rapidly with speed and it is not linear and P/U's have a LOT of drag too. You junior may have been doing wrong and speeding but someone is trying to pull a fast one to with a speed that is not correct. I would fight this one in court!
BTW, one of the fastest production 1/2 ton's is a Ford F150 Lightning and it tops out at around 145 MPH or so with 3 times the HP too.
