If you were a registered user, you would not be seeing this!

Just got the (supposedly) last 2.2 turbo 1 engine from Chrysler in the country.. (3 year 36k warranty). Bought a new turbo so my ? is, What oil is recommended? straight weight or something like 5w30? Would straight weight work in summer time but not in winter time?

Also i belive i read in this forum some time ago about using ATF tranny fluid from Mopar and not Dexron compatible, suppose to help the 88 LeBaron Turbo auto tranny shift smoothly when put in gear, never has been smooth. Is this true?

And i am removing the Cat converter and putting in a 3" exhaust with a flow master muffler. Will this mess up the map sensor or anything like that?

Thanks for the help.

I run 1 quart of Mobile 1 5w-30 and the rest Motorcraft (relabled Conoco) 5w-30 all year long as per Ed Peters (Retired Chrysler engineer and race team development type guy).

No it won't mess up the MAP or anything like that. You shouldn't even trip an O2 code as long as that is retained. Only issue is your local inspection laws.

I'd pour in Mobil 1 Synthetic until its full. The stuff is amazing.
My '89 LeBarons, 2.2L and 2.5L auto, run cooler, starts easier, are quieter all round and I'm sure it is keeping my exhaust cleaner.
