If you were a registered user, you would not be seeing this!

Need help!
I have a 2002 2500 Quadcab, SB, 4WD w/ 47RE Trans. After a road trip I noticed the trans was slipping in 1st gear. Now it seems like I have to build up RPMS to get moving after stopping. This happens when engine is warm. Yesterday, when pulling small boat up boat ramp the RPMS seemed to rev up before tranny engaged. Also fuel mileage has dropped. Any clues?

I would drop the pan and inspect for abnormal debris. Does the fluid smell burned? If all looks ok when the pan is off, I would adjust the bands, fill with fresh fluid, install a new filter and give it a try. If you have excessive clutch material or ANY metal chunks in the pan, stop there and have a reputable transmission shop check it out.

It is possible that the Governor Pressure Solenoid is malfunctioning allowing the transmission to start out in 3rd gear instead of first. Do you have a check engine light
lit.

Yeah, this topic is more than two years old. The original poster no longer has an account either. Closing...
