You may want to check the fuel you are using. If it is blended with ethanol, you will lose about 20% of your fuel economy.

My 07 Sebring with the 2.4 averages around 30 mpg and I have a heavy right foot. When I used Sunoco fuel, it dropped to about 24 mpg due to the ethanol blending.

You're averaging 30MPG? How? What percentage of your driving is highway? 90%? I think I'm gonna throw some Bosch Platinums in there tomorrow... I had great results with these in my Jeep Liberty.

Took the Avenger by my aunt's house.

Looks like she wants to buy it in 2 years for my little cousin.

FWIW, we get Avengers with :
2.0 petrol 5 speed manual
2.4 petrol 4 speed auto
2.0 diesel 6 speed manual
2.7 petrol 6 speed auto

The diesel is by far the best. It's nearly as smooth as the 2.7 and as quiet. It also performs far, far better. The 2.7 feels far too 'revvy' and the new 6 speed auto is very indecisive and harsh shifting. I prefer to drive the 2.4 if I have to drive an auto. Very disappointing, because the basic car is very good indeed. The suspension and steering package Chrysler have given the Australian market is absolutely first-rate. There's only a couple of other ( more expensive ) front wheel drive sedans that handle and ride as well. If they could just give us the 3.5 and sort out the new 6 speed auto.....

We've also got the 2.0 diesel/auto combos coming soon in SXT ( looks like your R/T ) spec. THAT should be a really nice car.

Hi everybody
I have had my Avenger sxt v6 since May and so far so good. It actually is doing better the more miles I get on it. It will rollover 10k next week and no problems so far. The milage is about 26.5
in mixed driving and about 30 on the highway at legal speeds. The leather seats are compfy especially on long trips and the auto temp control is easy to use and does a good job.
More updates later
John

That is way better than the sticker numbers. My wife wants one, and she was going for the the 4 cylinder for the advertised mileage. But if the 2.7 is getting 30 mpg, then I'll want the v6 sxt. Yes, keep us posted on your mpg.
