Has anyone heard any possibility of the Cherokee getting the Pacifica's PHEV system? It seems like the next logical application, other than a Chrysler CUV ("RA" or KL-based).

If they do a Cherokee PHEV, would it make more sense to use the 3.6 V6, or to adapt it to work with the Tigershark or Hurricane 4 (since it is a smaller vehicle)?

The DRL's on the 2018 Cherokee retain the same shape. The hi/low beam projector is moved up to the same housing as the DRLs. The projector's are moved to the outside of the lamp. Where the headlight is in the current Cherokee is replaced with a turn signal. The fog light's stay in the same spot however become like the Chargers three led layout. Turn signals will also be LEDs.

Don't forget, this is a refresh, not an all-new model.

The refresh is mostly cosmetic. The plant is retooled.

Since most everything on the Cherokeee stays the same, it makes sense to start and build the old design so the equipment can be tweaked properly before starting on the new bodystyle.

I understood every part of your comment except the bolded part. What kind of shape does the headlight retain?

Using the old model to troubleshoot the new line?

More of a conventional headlight design/shape

The projectors for the hi/lo beam is pushed to the outside corner of the headlights.

Correct. Also Cherokee is the most sold Jeep. Have to keep dealers supplied.

Roughly speaking, overall headlamp housing shape, current on top, new on bottom, see attached.

Makes sense, as I would think that the hood and fenders would stay the same

That makes sense. As an industrial engineer (co-op), I can still see the changeover to the refresh being a potential headache after just setting up for the old equipment. But nothing can replace good troubleshooting in a new environment.

And when will they show the facelift to the public? Is there an ETA for that?
From what oh2o has attached, the new headlights will be similar to the Compass headlights.

I'm looking forward to this, since I can't wait anymore on a new car and I was holding out to see what was coming out of Chrysler. I guess I'll have to settle for a 2018 Cherokee.:):):)
