Rough idle at 1000 rpm

    Another thing that can cause cold engine stumble and roughness is carbon build up on the back side of the intake valves.

    It sounds to me the incorrect type of plug was used 2 years ago for the gap to have eroded from .40 (40 thousandths) to .46 (46 thousandths) in 10,000 miles. Hopefully they used the proper copper Champion/NGK or a double-platinum Champion/NGK or you may be replacing them again in 2 years. If they used the copper plug it should be replaced in 30,000 miles. The double-platinum should be replaced in 60,000 miles. Plan on a spark plug wire change next time the plugs are replaced.
