Bad references are the last thing any small business needs in an economy like this but I feel this one is more than justified by this point.

Advanced Automotive machine shop of Waldorf Md. (NOT Advanced auto parts the chain store) was the business I chose to have remanufacture my 4 cylinder mopar 2.2. Doing some searching online the business had very good references and nothing bad could be said about the place.

On June 15th 2011 I dropped off an engine block, crankshaft, connecting rods w/pistons to have rebuilt.  Cylinder head had been dropped off one week prior. A time span of two weeks was given to have everything done.  Two weeks came and went with nothing, I stopped by to inquire and was told things were underway and that they had been very busy, ok thats understandable...  To a point.

weeks turned into months and as of today it has been 3 months with no end in sight. Phone calls have been made and one time further I stopped by and got the same old story.

Stay away is the best thing and really the only thing I can say about this business.

Sorry to hear that. It is one thing for a place to say it is going to take some time to do something, another when weeks turns into months. Not good business.

And the planets lined up today...  Got the call this AM it was done.  $605 all said and done. He didnt charge for a couple things and knocked a good chunk off the rest and put a transmission case through the washing machine for free as well.

Whenever I do something for someone and give them a price, if I can't hold up my end of the bargain, instead of charging the full price, knocking some off is my way of saying I'm sorry, hopefully they feel the same way. Glad that part is done so you can start assembly and asking us more questions.
