New source "PhantomSpazz" has again weighed in with Dodge PF compact car ("formerly called Dodge Hornet") models. While the nameplate is still being kept highly secret, with an incorrect leak of Hornet and unlikely leaks of Dart and Duster, the models appear to have been set. They are not surprising: the base will be SE, the likely volume candidate will be SXT, there will be a Rallye (possibly as an SXT package), an R/T, and a Limited -- the latter model name coming from Chrysler. It will reportedly be the longest, widest, and tallest car in its class, with a choice of retuned 2.0, retuned 2.4, and Fiat 1.4 turbo engines. Both transmissions come from Fiat, a six speed manual and a six speed dual clutch automatic. The interior will be quieter than the very-quiet Chevrolet Cruze. Posted Image
The 1.4 belts out around 160 hp and 170 lb-ft of..

I am sure the materials are good, but the all-grey dash brings shivers down my spine.

It looks great!

I have mixed feelings on this.

I like the 8.4" unit. I like the dual zone climate control (!!!), I like the use of the new steering wheel, and the stitching across the top of the dash.

I don't care for the cheap looking plastic around the a/c control unit and how the glove box door sits. *I'm hoping these are just pre-production issues however*

I hope they have a darker interior colour available as well.

"The interior will be quieter than the very-quiet Chevrolet Cruze."

How quiet can the interior possibly be? My parents own a Cruze and it's so quiet inside you can almost hear a pin drop while driving. It reminds me of that scene from "This Is Spinal Tap" when they look at the album cover:

"It's so quiet, it's like how much more quiet could this be? And the answer is none. None more quiet."

They are pre-production issues. During my Chrysler orientation, they showed us a pre-production 2011 Grand Cherokee and the interior was nothing like production. It also had 50,000!!!! miles on it, and someone even managed to spill coffee what seemed like everywhere.

Oh, and words cannot express how happy I am to not see that stupid steering column from the Giulietta.

... and the disappearance of the gated automatic shifters!!!!!

The dash looks like its a one piece module. With the 8.4 display and the price of the vehicle the point-and-click generation is going to be all over it even if it was trimmed with cardboard.

Odd that I don't see a wiper stalk on the right side of the column. I really hope it isn't a left hand twist wiper control like my Ram. The controls on the PT and Liberty are much better, in my opinion.

Well, as long as the wiper control is stiff enough that I don't set it off whenever I use the turn signals.

Is it just me or does the speedometer look like red digital while the tach looks like an analog gauge?

With Cruise Control back on the wheel, where it belongs, there could only be a need for one stalk.
Oddly, early JK's had three stalks...

Thats what I was hoping for!

I don't mind the gated shifters myself. But i prefer the 6-speed manual methinks...

Lets hope.

I assume that the 4.3" will be the standard radio?

That makes sense and is in line with the 7" center EVIC reported on earlier. Re-configurable dashboard maybe?

But you have to take your hand off the wheel to use them. The two stalks mean your right hand can flick the wipers with a fingertip, the same way you can signal a lane change.

I was hoping the steering wheel design would get changed. It looks very square edged compared to the rest of the interior.

I know we don't still know much about the numbers; but if it is bigger and longer and taller... is 30mpg city and a 40mpg car feasable?

I agree that I really hope the flat black plastic is mainly since it is a pre-production.

It still amazes me we have no idea what this thing is going to be called
