Hello Everyone,

I am in need of any information anyone can provide me on a 1933 Plymouth Rheingold. This is a 1933 4 door Sedan,it  was was an export model to Gemany. The car was assembled in Germany in the 30s and I cannot find any info on this. Do I own the only one ever built???

Does your have a 4 or 6 cylinder? I haven't found anything for sure but I see that there was a popular Rhinegold Express train which leads me to wonder if it was given that name for marketing purposes or did the builder of the train cars make a body for this unit to go on a bare chassis which was quite popular in that time. I found no formal Plymouth plants building cars in Europe at that time. It is possible but I would expect a chassis only. Most Plymouth bodies of that time would have been a Briggs body which should look like the normal American car as it would have been mass produced.

Do you have a vehicle ID #? I believe that US Plymouths were PC's and PD's.
The WPC Club may have a back issue of an article on 'Plymouths in Europe'. You might try to contact them with as much information as you have on the car.
If the production records were kept in Germany, I have doubts that they survived.
I'm certain that what you have is very rare.

This is a six cylinder. Yes I have the serial number.
