Chrysler, Dodge, and Jeep U.S. prices are rising, but by small increments. All vehicles will have a $100 boost in their destination charge, which will now vary from $850 to $950 (Hawaii is an extra $50). Most Dodge cars are maintaining their current sticker prices, with $200 increases on Challenger R/T Plus and Classic, Charger AWD, and Durango R/T AWD. Jeep, America's best selling brand, is not increasing any prices other than the destination charge. Posted Image
Chrysler is seeing the largest increases, which still remain relatively small. Town & Country Touring L and Limited go up by around $300; 200 Limited and S go up by $420; 200 Convertible goes up by $200. Chrysler 300 goes up $300 on Base, Limited RWD, and S V6 RWD, with Limited AWD and S AWD rising by $500. All changes take effect with vehicles invoiced on 12/27/2011 for dealer stock; they do not..

I don't know about everyone else, but I don't consider $400-$600 price increases "relatively small", especially considering these hikes are just a few months into the model year.

No price increase is small to me. However the increase may be in line . My company is having a 4% across the board increase Jan.1. The blame being placed on steel, copper, aluminum and of course petroleum products.A customer told me yesterday that he sold some scrap steel for $17.50/cwt. This is more than 50% higher than 6 months ago.

$400 is a lot of money, but it's a small percentage of the total vehicle cost.
It's a rough market.  the consumer is very price sensitive but the costs of raw materials and parts is going up.  Heck everything is except what is used to computer the CPI by the government.

With most of that increase coming on the Chrysler Brand vehicles, it may be a way of recognizing Chrysler's move up-market. Having cars as good, or better, than the benchmarked Audi and BMW, at thousands less, may allow them to get away with that increase, on the Chrysler Brand models.
The bulk of the other increases seems to be in destination charges, possibly the results from the shipping issues they had last Summer and the increase in fuel costs?

Just hope the freight doesn't go up here in Canada, where we already pay $1400.00!
