Chrysler has quietly launched a new concept minivan, the Chrysler 700C, at the Detroit Auto Show. For photography, see our new Chrysler 700C concept car page. The new van may be exploring future directions for a Chrysler minivan or crossover, along with other concepts. It has a much more sculptured look than current vans.

ARRRGGGHH!
Chrysler apparently is not immune to the lack of design talent found at Toyota and Honda...

NO kidding. It looks like a stretch Prius if I ever saw one!

Would like to see more interior pics though.

It looks like an aborted fetus.

Oh My, I thought some of those minivans from China and Japan were quirky (something that is strange/odd but cool) Good thing is, this is only a concept right? Just a few changes and the 700C could be very nice. A lot of good hints in the styling direction Chrysler is headed.

I don't mind it, although obviously it wouldn't make it to production like that.  I don't think.  But it immediately put me to mind of the EcoVoyager concept from  a few years back.  Either the concept is a leftover from those days, or they are still fiddling around with the idea of those styling elements.

Marchionne said during the Q&A that the concept does not necessarily indicate the future direction of the minivan.

And for the love of all that is holy, I hope this does not come to pass.  The rear quarter screams Lancia.  And the front...  crikey, I just had lunch.

They have to move on from the big box look and surely it will be toned down in the production version. Wonder why they called it a 700C?

The EcoVoyager was a lot better looking than that thing. Looks like they have some "stylists" over from Milan...???

I like some of the design cues.....I think the front facia is quite nice and I like the rake of the windshield as well. Side profile does nothing for me.

For reference. It looks rather cool, but like this I'm not sure how practical it would be to either produce or actually use: Posted Image

Because one van name will disappear? 700C is the biggest Chrysler, up from 100C, 200C, 300C...
Leaves room for the 400, 500 and 600. ;)

They did want a smaller people mover, the Eco might become the 600...or the new Liberty...

This thing looks like something that will scurry under the fridge when you turn the lights on in the kitchen.  I want to swat it with a rolled up newspaper.

I guess I had better get my eyes checked, as I'm not seeing any Honda or Toyota there at all. Now Lancia maybe ;)

My comments were in reference to how poor the latest Honda and Toyota designs have been, not to any specific design cues.

The rear quarter and taillight look like that Nissan/Infinity SUV thingy.  :-[
