KGP just snapped their first physical, real-world proof that Chrysler is well along in the development of the Chrysler 100, a 4-door hatchback to sell under the Chrysler 200 sedan. The car, listed in the 2009 Five Year Plan, is reportedly based on the Dodge Dart sedan, and the mules use some Alfa Giulietta sheet metal along with their Chrysler grilles. They were photographed during cold-weather tests. Posted Image
Beyond the mules' Chrysler grilles, the rear bumper and exhaust are extended well beyond the Dart mules' bumper, suggesting greater rear overhang in the interest of greater cargo capacity. The front fender also differs from the Dart mules, with an extended nose clip that appears to result in higher hoodline. From this mule, it would seem that the Chrysler 100 is being designed more with utility and cargo capacity in mind, rather than chasing the hot hatch formula.

Is it me or does it sit a bit high?  Could this be an AWD version?

Or, AWD will be an option on the "mini-Pacifica."

It's an interesting idea -- having the hatchback and sedan come under different brands!

Certainly could provide the level of differentiation they are seeking, too.

The sheetmetal on that mule is a mess. I don't think anyone can reasonably speculate anything about the finished product except that it's Dart sized. Probably why they didn't even bother with camo covers.

incredible misuse of the Chrysler brand in my opinion.
so now, Chrysler brand will have a small two-door hatchback car to go along with a minivan? so who is Chrysler brand trying to become, the new Kia?
unreal.
i don't think the Chrysler Group brands mean anything anymore when you look at the mix of vehicles sold as Jeep, Dodge, Chrysler.

It's a powertrain mule how can you tell anything from that and where did the two door thing come from?

I think the "two-door" thing comes from the fact that the rear door-cut line is very hard to see. Then again, as a powertrain mule, there may not even BE a cut line there. But a production 2-door? Not likely.

What is the Chrysler brand trying to become? The US Lancia. Lancia sells in Europe. Europe likes hatchbacks. Thus, Chrysler will offer them as well.

Not saying I agree or that it's right. Just saying that right now, it's what it is.

Yeah, I think you just missed it... And since they are using hidden door handles in the c-pillar it makes it harder to see.

It's just a cobbled mess of parts.  Other than the front bumper, there really isn't much to see her.

Go get your eyes checks :). You only got two of em for life!

Whenever some "reads too much" into a pre-production mule I like to dust off this lovely Plymouth Prowler photo. :scared:

Dang...  For some reason I was hoping that the 100C would be RWD.  I wonder if there's still a possibilty for that?  This does use the CUSW+, right?
