The simple truth in life is that you've got to play the hand you're dealt. No if's, and's or but's about it.

...sometimes that hand can have some pretty goofy cards in it though.

If you're the praying type, I'd greatly appreciate ya'll sending a few my way- this hasn't been the easiest 12-month stretch... capped off today when I was laid off from my job here in Cleveland. My van's engine died in October, I'm starting to have strange transmission issues with my back-up van, today I lost my job, and I'm on the hook with my lease until September. Not looking for a pity party, but a few spare prayers would go a LONG way.

Thanks guys 'n gals.

You got mine, Chris. That's the easiest way to help someone that I know of.  Oh, BTW, my brother that everyone prayed for is doing fantastic. I went and visited him yesterday and he was back to his old, abnormal self. Cutting up and joking and carrying on just like he used to. He may get to go home in about three weeks. Then he'll have PT at home. That's what he's really looking forward to. He's already been at Vandebilt for a month now.

It's all in the cards, and especially how you play them. You are in my prayers, as I think others need them more than me for the time being.

Oh no, you got laid off too? I've been still looking for work since I got laid off. I pray you get another job soon!

Thanks. I am now left to faith that my one remaining vehicle will hold it together long enough until I can find a new job. If it goes south like my 2000, I'll be up a creek. But here's to hoping that won't happen!

I appreciate all the well wishes everyone.

Does anyone reading this live in the CLEVELAND, OHIO area?

My apartment complex has recently started this incentive where if you refer people to come tour the property, you can get $300 off your rent... which is something I could really use right about now having lost my job. If anyone is in the CLE+ area, would you be willing to take an hour of your time to tour my complex? You DO NOT need to agree to anything... just give them my name and pretend like you're interested long enough to tour the place. Even if you don't end up renting here they'll still give me the discount. If you'd be interested in helping me out, I'd really appreciate it- shoot me a PM for details.
