I wanted a topic started that has just the rumors and the facts that we already know (please do not post opinions, just rumors and facts)
I took all the items I could find from other posts and put the down and dirty here.

Fact: Penske has signed with Ford for 2013 for 5 years
Rumor: Penske will use RYE (Roush Yates Engines)
Rumor: Penske has toured RYE but has not signed a deal and may still build his own Ford engines
Rumor: A deal between Penske and RYE may be waiting on RPM's decision on if they stay with Ford or go with Dodge.
Rumor: Petty plans on leaving the Roush campus after this year
Fact: RPM's contract with Ford is up at the end of this year.
Rumor: Robby Loomis may be working behind the scenes on a possible Dodge deal.
Rumor: Michael Andretti's Andretti Autosports team is a candidate for the 2013 Dodge lineup
Rumor: Furniture Row Racing and RPM are other teams mentioned as the front runners for Dodge
Rumor: EGR has been mentioned
Fact: Gibbs, MWR and JTG have signed extensions with TRD/Toyota
Rumor: Dodge/SRT has explored possible locations on the Charlotte area for a race shop or engine facility?
Rumor: Andretti has explored possible locations in North Carolina
Rumor: Ilmore engineering will build Dodge engines
Fact: Ilmore has conections to Penske's engine shop
Coincidense: the 2013 Nascar Dodge Charger has been seen at Petty Driving experience in Charlotte
Coincidense: STP commercials show a Petty Challenger
Mentioned by a possible insider: Just because there is nothing new to report doesn't mean there isn't anything new going on.........

Lets keep this topic about the facts and rumors and leave the personal feelings to other topics.

Other rumors I forgot to mention

Fact: Ryan Newman's contract with SHR is still on the table for 2013 and beyond but sponsorship may be a hurdle.
Rumor: It was mentioned (forget where) that Ryan has been told by Tony he is free to look for something else but Stewart wants Newman back at SHR.
Rumor: Ryan Newman and Kurt Busch have been mentioned as possible drivers for a new Dodge team, possibly Andretti Autosport.
Rumor: Kurt has been mentioned as a possible driver for the 43 team (that may have been started here but I can't find it...I really don't get paid to look so I didn't look that hard!!)
Rumor: JGR could be a destination for Kurt as a replacement for Joey Logano or a 4th team.
Fact: Kurt made mention of RPM's history with Dodge as well as his own history with Dodge during an interview about Furniture Row showing interest in having Kurt drive a second car as Regan Smith's teammate.

Also:
Rumor: Dodge might be interested in Indy cars if they go with Andretti Autosport.
Fact: Andretti Autosport driver Ryan Hunter-Reay has been hired to drive for one of the SRT Viper teams.
Was it mentioned: Ilmor engineering that was rumored to be a possbile engine supplier for Dodge builds Andretti's Chevy Indy engines?

Rumor: Ilmore engineering will build Dodge engines
Fact: Ilmore has conections to Penske's engine shop

Fact: Penske/Ilmore engine final prep is performed inside the Penske Racing Building that also houses the Nascar effort. 384,000 sq ft., so there is room. Penske is one of the Ilmore owners.

New Rumor: Via Twitter: Andretti has been talking with top Nascar engine builders. (not sure who the top engine builders were that they talked to)
Other news: 3 of the 4 manufacturers have submitted revised 2013 models with Ford expected to submit their update within the next few weeks.
From an interview with Richard Petty: When asked if RPM would change manufacturers Petty stated no but when asked if RPM would stay the course with Ford in 2013 he stated that they would work hard this year and worry about 2013 later with a laugh (I paraphrased his comments)

Well prior Andretti-to-NASCAR rumors from last year and beyond have linked Andretti with Ford, so perhaps they talked to RoushYates... and the rest of the big guys; they'd have to talk to Hendrick or Childress - if nothing else just for advice on setting up such an effort. Perhaps [likely] a meeting with Penske as well.

Tweet from Gilles:

"when can we expect an announcement about @Dodge @NASCAR team for next year?" ideally mid summer!

Mid-summer is like what, July? August? They're pushing it extremely close. In any other situation, that'd be textbook scheduling for announcements, but for something essentially starting from scratch... logic would say they need to announce at least a few things before that timeframe.

...Though it is Brickyard time [July 29]. Possible Brickyard/Andretti announcement?

Technically, mid-summer is considered first week in August. All the "i's" will need to be dotted and all the "t's" crossed by then, a laborious effort with all the legal contracts involved and funding to be moved around. Figure that if there is any announcement at that time, that efforts are already underway well before the official announcements.

We can assume that Dodge will be going racing on the fact that 3 o the manufacturers have submitted updated 2013 cars with Ford expected to submit their version in the next few weeks. This isnt the government, the government would go ahead with building new buildings and renovating old ones just to close down the base the following year. I don't see Chrysler wasting money on a new 2013 (not the original unveil but a revised 2013 part) and then put the program on the shelf.

Fact: Dodge will be racing in NASCAR in 2013.

Rumor: Contracts are signed. My personal speculation is the engine deal is still being hammered out. The word is teams with an "s." Possibly as many as three. No word on the who yet.

That should make you feel better.

Probably true. Three teams, hopefully two cars each. That would be 300% more cars to root for!

For what it's worth, Ralph & Co. seems to be a bit more open to speaking [tweeting] about the NASCAR effort; they don't seem to be treating the situation as "voodoo" any more...

One person asked him about "fitting The King's team in Dodges at Daytona next year" and Ralph responded with his now-trademark "Can't talk about that here!" statement; the same kind of "wink, wink" response he's given about an SRT Dart [which, c'mon, we all knew from day one it's gonna happen] and other future product that aren't *officially* in the pipeline.

For sure............"Possibly" has been the 600# elephant in the room since Penske said he would be leaving the program.
