I don't know of any manufacturers that ACTUALLY chrome their wheels.   Polished aluminum maybe, real chrome?  Doubtful.  Massive pain in the rear to take care of real chrome wheels to avoid pitting etc.   Chrome clad wheels are a good solution.

 

As for why not make them replaceable... Well because then they are hubcaps, and we know what happens to those... 1 falls off when you hit a bump or take a turn to hard, then you have mismatched wheels etc.  Would be a pain as well... Plus like others said, they can be stolen then...

Mine are basically hubcaps...

The Dart "polished aluminum" isn't really polished aluminum, I don't think at least... I think it's a new dangled chrome process... Looks more chrome than polished...
