Hi

I have a PT Cruiser 2.0 Limited Automatic, Year of manufacture 2000

The engine management light came on so I accessed the code and it stated
P0601

Decoded that says 'powertrain module fault'

I may have decoded the code to get the answer but what does that mean?

How can I fix it? Any suggestions!

Thanks

Eltel55

p0601 is internal pcm failure. the only repair is to replace the pcm.
this should be covered by the 8/80 federal emissions warranty.

............and don't be surpised if the reman unit that is installed carries the same fault. Seen it numerous times. Quite common. In fact on one vehicle it took the 4th reman unit to cure the problem.
