The Top 5% of (1996-1999) Mopar Sites Award
Criteria and values
First and foremost is concentrating on Mopar (Chrysler, Plymouth, Dodge, or Valiant) cars. We do not include "pure" Mitsubishis in the category of Mopar cars, despite excellent Talon/Eclipse sites; we plan to give the award to Sebring/Avenger sites soon.
We do include post-purchase AMCs, as an adopted Mopar brand. After all, the Mopar we know today is made up not just of Chrysler, but also of AMC factory workers, engineers, and knowledge - not to mention the entire Jeep line, the 4.0 engine, and the 2.5 liter SMPI four-cylinder used in the 1996+ Dakotas. (Thanks to Jim Stone for helping us to change our AMC policy).
(Note: We do not include Mercedes vehicles, though Mercedes owns Chrysler. Likewise, though Mercedes also owns 34% of Mitsubishi, we do not include Mitsubishi (though the Galant is largely a product of the former Chrysler Australia). The main difference is that AMC was fully absorbed into and merged with Chrysler, while Mitsubishi and Mercedes remain totally separate).
The breadth and depth of information is more important than graphics. Special services, such as VIN decoding, are valued. Images generally are not. That's one way we differentiate our award.
Fast loading and universal access are appreciated, as is trouble- shooting, quick fixes, and low-buck performance boost information. Ease of access (for those with and without newer browsers), appearance, content, readability...it all gets added together in our effort to pluck the best sites.
If you were turned down, you can probably get an award by adding relevant and original content (you can summarize from printed sources, with appropriate references, though reproducing printed materials without copyright clearance is illegal and grounds for immediate removal). Making a modem-friendly section also helps quite a bit.
We hate turning people down but we can only give an award to 1 in 20 sites, by definition!
Feel free to argue with us about your rating or link appearance. We don't mind and we won't hold it against you.
