2012 Chrysler Employee Motorsports Assocation (CEMA) Car Show

“The real secret of success is enthusiasm.” – Walter P. Chrysler

The Chrysler Employee Motorsport Association (CEMA) held its 23nd annual show on the grounds of the Walter P. Chrysler Museum in Auburn Hills, Michigan in 2012. The show is dominated by former or current employees of Chrysler, though it is open to all makes/models and generally attracts a healthy variety of participants and spectators. The show is a charity event; its proceeds were gifted to the Walter P. Chrysler Museum Foundation this year.

Doreen Wright, of the Chrysler Museum, reported that:

  • 918 people came into the museum with double or triple that amount outside
  • 380 show cars were on the porch, lawn, and parking lots
  • Viper Cafe' Opening was a huge success with Viper club owners, donors and general public
  • The new 75 Years of Mopar Exhibit was a hit
  • Volunteers did an awesome job with everything from shuttling guests to the museum and then back to their cars, to admissions, fully staffing the museum and making guests feel welcome and informed, to the gift shop and beyond!

Marc Rozman reported that the Viper Cafe dedication was at 10 am, followed by a round table discussion in the auditorium (original Viper team members regarding Carroll Shelby), and a presentation on the 2013 Viper by the team leader. The gift shop and museum admissions were reportedly the strongest of the year. There were over 50 Vipers, including one 2013 Viper provided by Chrysler itself.
