  • Falling Center Line water tower: The water tower was built in 1953 along with the Center Line complex, and held 200,000 gallons of water for fire protection. The 160 foot tall tank was also used by the Chrysler tank plant to sight its guns. In 1996, the requirements changed to a minimum of 400,000 gallons of water, and the tower become obsolete. Chris Cortez, SVP for Global Service and Parts, was quoted by The Source as saying, “This is an emotional moment seeing our Mopar tower go." (Thanks, Chris Suminski.)
