What a season!

When Brad Keselowski won the Sprint Cup on Sunday, it capped a winning season for Dodge and Ram in North American Motorsports. All in all, drivers of Mopar- and SRT-supported vehicles claimed six outright championships as well as several top-five finishes.

In NASCAR-sanctioned events, there were two champions: Keselowski and D.J. Kennington, who was the season champ in the Canadian Tire Series. Sam Hornish Jr. finished fourth in the Nationwide Series, a big improvement from his 23rd-place ranking last year, and Alex Bowman and his St. Jude Hospital Dodge Charger finished fourth in the ARCA presented by Menard’s stock car series. Also of note was rookie Ryan Blaney, who came up from ARCA to deliver Ram’s first victory in the Camping World Truck Series.

Looking at NHRA professional drag racing, Allen Johnson and Jack Beckman are the 2012 world champions in Pro Stock and Funny Car, respectively. It was the second consecutive win for Dodge in Funny Car. Ron Capps, driver of the NAPA Dodge Charger, was the runner-up in Funny Car and Vincent Nobile was third in Pro Stock. Johnson has a career-best seven wins in the 2012 Full Throttle season, the most of any driver. Ron Capps set a national speed record in Funny Car. Three Charger drivers earned a spot in the Funny Car Countdown to the Championship; four Avenger drivers did the same in Pro Stock.

Ram drivers took two out of three top spots in The Off Road Championships. Ricky Johnson was the winner in PRO 4X4 while Bryce Menzies took the honors in PRO 2WD. The team of Rob MacCachren and Andrew Caddell was the runners-up in PRO 2WD. Caddell was close to the third championship in PRO Lite, but had to settle for runner-up.
