Brad Sweet scores USAC Sprint Car victory for Mopar
Team Mopar driver Brad Sweet led the field from start to finish last Saturday as he won the United States Auto Club (USAC) Sprint Car portion of the 4-Crown Nationals at the Eldora Speedway in Rossburg, Ohio. The young driver from California, in the Mopar-backed Kasey Kahne Racing car, started the 30-lap feature from the pole position and never trailed on the high-speed, half-mile dirt track. His Eldora Sprint Car win came over a field of nearly 50 entrants.
Sweet’s victory on Saturday gives him a total of three dirt-track wins for the 2008 season. Sweet and his KKR team racked up previous first-place finishes at Iowa’s Knoxville Raceway and at the Belleville High Banks in Kansas.
Jerry Coons Jr. put a second Mopar-powered Sprinter on the podium at Eldora, finishing third at the wheel of the Hoffman Auto Racing car.
