GM sales beat estimates; all manufacturers reporting sales declines
GM reported September domestic-brand sales volume was down 13.8 percent, much better than analysts’s forecasts. The Chevrolet Silverado outsold the Ford F-Series for the month and should be the top-selling light vehicle for the month.
Hyundai says sales down 25 percent, Mercedes reports a decline of 16.4 percent and Smart failed to break the 2,000-unit mark. Porsche sales were off 44.8 percent. Volkswagen sales were down a comparatively small 9.4 percent.
