The Demon wins one for Mopar at Perris

Team Mopar driver Damion “The Demon” Gardner took the checkered flag at the USAC/CRA Series feature that ran last Saturday on the half-mile dirt oval at Southern California’s Perris Auto Speedway.
Gardner piloted the Leffler Racing Sprinter to the lead on lap 17 of the 30-lap feature and his Gary Stanton-built Mopar engine made sure he kept it all the way to the finish line.
Gardner, a regular on the USAC National Sprint Car trail, joined several other drivers in using Saturday’s event as a practice run for the prestigious “Budweiser Oval Nationals,” scheduled at the Perris track from October 30 to November 1.
