Mahindra to put small diesel pickups on American roads in 2009
Supported by a $60 million ad campaign, India’s Mahindra & Mahindra is planning to sell new two and four door compact pickups powered by diesel engines in late 2009, with an SUV to follow. Mahindra sells Jeep-like vehicles in India and other parts of the world, and has lined up 325 dealers across the country, with a dealership fee of $195,000. The company has already sold 80,000 farm tractors in the United States.
