Chrysler keeps No. 4 Spot
Chrysler outsold American Honda (including Acura) to retain the No. 4 spot in U.S. light vehicle sales. With November sales of 85,260 and year-to-date (YTD) sales of 1,363,309, Chrysler leads the second-largest Japanese automaker going into the final sales month of 2008.
Chrysler’s Town & Country was the best-selling minivan in November, however, the Honda Odyssey has built up a strong lead in YTD sales and looks likely to topple the Caravan from its long-held perch atop the segment. The Caravan was third for the month and is in second place for the year. The Toyota Sienna is in fourth place for both monthly and YTD sales, but the Town & Country’s lead is a paper-thin 1,368 units out of 100,000-plus sales for each model.
