Meyer, Murtaugh out in realignment
Deborah Wahl Meyer, Chrysler’s Chief Marketing Officer, is leaving the company today and Phillip F. Murtaugh, who has been handling the company’s Asia operations, will be leaving at the end of the month as part of the latest management realignment. The company says both are leaving to “pursue other interests.”
Steven J. Landry, Executive V-P of North American Sales, Marketing and Mopar Parts and Service will assume Meyer’s responsibilities for brand marketing and advertising. He also manages Mopar and Chrysler Canada.
Corporate research and global product planning will be added tot he workload of Michael Manley, Executive V-P of International Sales and Global Product Planning Operations. Manley will continue to be responsible for planning, regional operations in Asia, Latin America, Europe, Middle East and Africa and Chrysler de Mexico.
Wahl Meyer was considered quite a coup when Chrysler brought her in from Toyota in August 2007 and Murtaugh was a rising star at GM, where he built up their China operations. Murtaugh joined Chrysler in September 2007.
