Steve Landry’s letter to dealers

To: All Chrysler LLC Dealers
(From: Steve Landry)

This week, Chrysler will deliver to Congress our Plan for the future. In addition, we will testify on the merits of that plan and reiterate that on behalf of more than one million people we are asking for a loan to continue the transformation of our company. In fact, we are asking the government to invest in our collective future and the future of our communities across the country.

We appreciate this opportunity to share with the Congress how Chrysler has and will continue to move beyond the broken business model of its automotive past. We believe the New Chrysler is a different kind of automobile company with a future product vision to lead America, for example in electric vehicles. Once the plan is delivered we will share an executive summary with you and the public.

On November 17-19, thirty-three Chrysler, Jeep and Dodge dealers hit the streets in Washington to tell your story to the Congress and the media. More of you have told us that you believe in the new Chrysler and also want your voices heard and your interests considered. Following are a variety of methods available to you to do just that. It is of vital importance that House and Senate leaders understand the consequences that their inaction would bring to your business, employees, suppliers, customers and communities.

The following tools are available to you and your employees to have your voices heard:
1. Contact your Congressional representatives: Visit http://grabdemocracybythehorns.com/ and contact your senators and representatives. This is the single easiest and most effective way to ensure your voice is heard by the government.

2. Create a video message of support: We have created a YouTube video portal for employees and dealers to send video messages of support for our company and industry. Tape a 2-3 minute video of yourself and your employees stating why you think America should invest in the U.S. auto industry and what your dealership is doing as a member of the Chrysler family to help serve customers and improve our business.

a. Send the video in to GrabDemocracy@gmail.com. We will post it and share your message with the media, the Congress and the Administration.

b. We’ve also set up a YouTube channel named GrabDemocracy, where you can post videos. To gain access to the YouTube channel, here are the steps:

i. Go to YouTube.com
ii. Click on “sign in” at the top of the screen
iii. Insert “grabdemocracy” as the username and challenger1 as the password
iv. Click on “upload video” to post their video. There are instructions on the page on how to do this. It takes 10-15 minutes after uploading before a video is available for viewing.

c. A selection of videos will be used in a compilation video that will be distributed to let Americans know why they should invest in the U.S. auto industry.

3. Send a letter of support for Chrysler’s Plan and our request for the Government to invest in us: Bob Nardelli and his team have worked hard to lay out to the Congress a clear vision for The New Chrysler and emphasize the impact of the auto industry on employees, suppliers and dealers in all 50 states. We will share an executive summary with the dealers. We would like to share publicly your support for this Plan.

a. Send your letters to GrabDemocracy@gmail.com. We will share them with Mr. Nardelli and post a selection online.

b. Include a photo of your dealership, possibly with your employees in front. We want everyone to know just how many of you are out there supporting the industry.

4. Register on Chrysler’s blog, VoicesofChrysler.com. This site belongs to everyone with a stake or interest in Chrysler. Get on and make your opinion heard.

More then ever, this is the time for your voices, and the voices of the roughly 140,000 CJD dealership employees in this country to be heard. On behalf of all of us at Chrysler, LLC, we thank you for your support and your continued business.
