Chrysler pulls out of Tokyo Motor Show
Chrysler will not participate in the 41st annual Tokyo Motor Show.
In a statement, Kaori Beppu, a spokesperson for Chrysler Japan, wrote,
“Chrysler decided, under the current challenges and market situation the company faces, to pull out of TMS in 2009 in order to secure limited resources invested efficiently on activities necessary to sustain our business.”
Ford and General Motors have also decided to skip the show and even some Japanese automakers are re-thinking participation due to the down market and need to conserve cash. The Japan Automobile Manufacturers Association is currently discussing the idea of canceling the show which is scheduled for October 23 to November 8.
