Credit union plan now in 50 states

Automotive News reported that Chrysler LLC will expand its cooperation with credit unions to all 50 states tomorrow, greatly increasing the ability of buyers to get credit.

The “Invest in America” program gives participating credit union members added rebates of $500 to $1,000 on most Chrysler, Dodge and Jeep vehicles.

Chrysler sales fell 53% in December 2008 vs December 2007, with Dodge Caravans getting hammered by a 67% sales drop, pushing the minivan below Honda in U.S. sales.

Chrysler will also add discounts of up to $3,000 on various 2009 models and up to $6,000 on 2008 models.
