Product development reorganization

Chrysler has re-organized their product development teams to reflect new processes and synergies. Key appointments are:

Scott Kunselman, Jeep/Truck Vice President. Reporting to Scott are several chief engineers for specific programs, as well as directors of program management, body engineering, interior engineering, and chassis engineering.

Daniel Knott, Car/Minivan/SRT Vice President. Again, reporting to Daniel are various chief engineers for individual carlines – the Avenger/Sebring and Caliber trio are noticeably linked together. Likewise, a new carline code, LD, has appeared in addition to LX and LC; this could be the next-generation LX or the production version of the 200C.  Also reporting to Daniel is Kipp Owen of SRT and car/minivan versions of the directors reporting to Scott.

Mark Chernoby, Alliance Vice President. His responsibilities appear to include vehicles that Chrysler will “borrow” as well as those it will “share.”

Larry Lyons, Core Components, Processes, and International Engineering Vice President. His areas appear to include a large number of common components, from seat belts to powertrains, as well as the engineering heads of Asia (at least two regions), Eastern Europe, and India, and the manufacturing quality folk.

Robert Lee, Powertrain Engineering Vice President. His reports include Phoenix, diesel adaptation, and others.

Other vice presidents include Lou Rhodes, advanced vehicle engineering and ENVI; Andreas Schell, electrical/electronics engineering core; Stephen Bartoli, regulatory affairs and product strategy; Marios Zenios, connectivity and infotainment; Byron Kearney, labs and proving grounds; and Ralph Gilles, design.

Trevor Creed and Frank Klegon, among others, are at the Executive Vice President level and are not directly affected by these changes.
