Chrysler makes changes to extended service plans
Allpar members report Chrysler has made some changes to its Certified Pre-Owned Vehicle service programs.
The new programs became effective March 9th; they feature two levels of coverage with the base limited warranty.
The certified buyer gets an initial three-month, 3,000 full mechanical coverage which then reverts to a six-year/80,000-mile powertrain coverage plan (based on six years from date of new vehicle delivery to the original buyer and zero miles). The deductible was raised from $100 to $150 for claims under both the 3/3 full mechanical and 6/80 powertrain.
If the CPOV vehicle is still covered by the original factory three-year/36,000-mile warranty, the 3/3 full mechanical (Maximum Care) coverage does not start until the original warranty has expired. If the CPOV vehicle is delivered after the factory warranty has expired, the three-month/3,000-mile full mechanical coverage starts immediately.
Chrysler is now offering a “Lifetime” upgrade to either the Powertrain portion of the CPOV limited warranty and any of the more comprehensive mechanical plans can be upgraded to lifetime, including the full mechanical (Maximum Care) program covering 5,000 components.
