President Obama to announce auto aid program on Monday

The White House says President Obama will announce on Monday the next phase of the federal government’s efforts to help Chrysler and General Motors achieve financial stability.

Any new aid announced will come with strict requirements for the automakers to reduce their debt and their operating costs and will require the companies to win hefty concessions from creditors, bondholders and the United Auto Workers union.
