Chrysler trustee appoints unsecured creditors committee
Diana Adams, Chrysler’s U.S. bankruptcy trustee, today appointed eleven members to the committee of unsecured creditors. The committee will represent the interests of all creditors in the proceedings.
The members, including three dealers and four suppliers, named today include:
• Zanetti Chrysler-Jeep-Dodge, New York City, New York
• Darcars Imports Inc., Silver Spring, Maryland
• AutoNation Inc., Fort Lauderdale, Florida
• Continental Automotive Systems Inc., Deer Park, Illinois
• Cummins Inc., Columbus, Indiana
• Ohio Module Manufacturing Co., a subsidiary of Hyundai Mobis, Toledo, Ohio
• Magna International Inc., Aurora, Ontario
• United Auto Workers union, Detroit, Michigan
• Pension Benefit Guaranty Corp., Washington D.C.
• Desiree Sanchez, to be represented by Schnader Harrison Segal & Lewis, Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. Sanchez was injured in a 2004 accident which involved a Chrysler Sebring that was hit broadside. The car did not have a side airbag. Sanchez, who was 25 at the time, now lives in an assisted-living facility. Schnader Harrison Segal & Lewis had wanted Judge Arthur Gonzalez to appoint a separate committee of tort claimants. The law firm represents a group of more than 150 members with tort claims that calls itself the Ad Hoc Committee of Consumer-Victims of Chrysler LLC. Committee members and their counsel valued their claims at a total of more than $650 million.
