Phillips unveils fuel-saving headlights

Phillips Automotive Lighting North America has introduced a new line of replacement halogen headlamp bulbs that can actually reduce fuel consumption. The new EcoVision lamps use up to 20 percent less power, reducing the load on the car’s electrical system thereby reducing the amount of fuel the engine uses to keep the system charged.

EcoVision achieves its savings by combining a high performance filament with a proprietary gas composition. Simply by changing over to EcoVision, drivers can save as much as four gallons of fuel over the life of the bulbs. Lower fuel usage also means lower CO2 emissions, helping to fight global warming.

EcoVision bulbs are DOT compliant and street legal. Since headlamp bulbs should be replaced in pairs, EcoVision headlamp bulbs are offered in two-bulb packages to replace existing 9003, 9004, 9005, 9006, 9007, 9008, H7, and H11 bulb types.
