Viper line up and running again
The Dodge Viper line at Chrysler’s Conner Avenue plant is back in production, becoming the first of the automaker’s assembly lines to come back online since the company filed for bankruptcy on April 30.
Both Dianna Gutierrez and Max Gates, Chrysler Group spokespersons, confirmed the facility is operational. Other plants are scheduled to reopen later this month.
In an e-mail, Ms. Gutierrez said, “The company will continue to monitor economic indicators as it develops its future operating schedule and will announce plans accordingly.”
Even with the long furlough, Chrysler Group is still planning on its traditional two-week summer shutdown. All production will be suspended during the weeks of July 13 and July 20.
