Small car head borrowed from Daimler moves on

Andreas Schell, who was put in charge of converting Fiat’s A and B class vehicles for Chrysler’s use before hitting the age of 40, has left Chrysler without leaving a forwarding address. Schell started with Mercedes, and stayed with Chrysler after the 2007 split. Chrysler’s new CEO had just named him to the small car post, as well as being head of innovation and pre-program concepts.

In the mid-2000s, Schell led a team which patented a way of freeing hydrogen gas for the fuel cells favored by Daimler-Benz. He moved on to head Chrysler’s electronics engineering.

No reason for leaving the company was given. (Automotive News story.)
