Chrysler evaluating several agencies for new advertising
Chrysler reportedly has contacted as many as ten agencies to get fresh ideas for advertising in the last three months of this year.
Among the agencies said to be vying for the business are Crispin Porter & Bogusky which until recently handled the Volkswagen account, and WPP’s Grey and Publicis Group’s Hal Riney. Another WPP group currently handles the Ford account. Incumbent BBDO will also participate. BBDO has handled the Chrysler, Dodge and Jeep advertising since the accounts were consolidated nine years ago.
While none of the agencies would comment, a Chrysler spokeswoman said Michael Accavitti, CEO of Dodge brand, is heading up the search leading the process, as he’s charged with overseeing all three Chrysler brands and is head of the new company’s worldwide marketing organization. Accavitti’s review team will include Peter Fong, CEO of Chrysler brand, and Michael Manley, the head of Jeep brand.
