Chrysler is now the sole owner of GEMA
Chrysler has bought the interests of Hyundai and Mitsubishi Motors and is now the sole owner of the GEMA four-cylinder engine plant in Dundee Michigan, allowing Chrysler to replace the much-criticized 1.8, 2.0, and 2.4 liter “World Engines” with advanced designs from Fiat.
Fiat has been praised by pundits and analysts alike for the engineering of its four-cylinder engines, and for its expertise in building them efficiently. Fiat’s advances in four cylinder engines will be matched in the Fiat-Chrysler consortium by Chrysler’s upcoming Pentastar V6 and Hemi V8.
