Nissan outsells Chrysler in August
Chrysler dropped to sixth place among automakers as Nissan North American finished fifth for the month. Sales at Nissan’s namesake division, which rose not quite 0.2 percent were enough to do the job, coming in 4,358 units ahead of Chrysler Group. Combined Nissan-Infiniti sales put Nashville-based Nissan North America almost 13 percent ahead of Chrysler by sales volume.
Chrysler still remains the No. 5 manufacturer in the standings with a hefty 128,416-sale lead in year-to-date sales.
