RDP brings out 426 Hemi Challenger

RDP Motorsport USA scored a big hit making its debut at the 2009 Specialty Equipment Market Association show in Las Vegas recently. The SEMA show is heralded for its yearly gathering of a virtual who’s who of automotive aftermarket. New vehicles are created just for the trade-only show where more than 100,000 industry leaders meet.

In its first try at showing products at SEMA, RDP’s 2010 SRT8 Dodge Challenger was extremely well received by show attendees. The extensively modified car now sports a 426 cubic inch, Hemi stroker engine with RDP’s new Tunnel Rampage, a twin turbo induction system that is rumored to help deliver a whopping 1,300 rear wheel horsepower. The stealthy black Challenger also enjoys enhanced suspension modifications and candy apple red, ghost town graphics. Texan Frank Miller commissioned RDP for the build. As most cars built for SEMA are more for show than go, it was an especially sweet victory for RDP, which is known for its performance. To that effect, the Challenger can turn heads and also turn quarter-mile times in the nine-second range.

RDP was founded by Leerentveld in 1997 and quickly established itself as a performance leader in its homeland of Australia. After its move to the United States, it didn’t take long to set a record with another Dodge Challenger it built. Equipped with a 440 cubic inch Hemi stroker, the car earned the title of the fastest and most powerful late-modern Hemi in street trim with an impressive 9.79 @ 144RDP-challengermph.
