Sterling Heights Assembly to stay open until 2011

Chrysler CEO Sergio Marchionne said the Sterling Heights Assembly Plant will remain in operation through 2011. The plant was scheduled to be shuttered next year but company executives, recognizing the need to improve its position in the mid-size car segment, gave it an extension. Marchionne also said he expects the next-generation Sebring will be built in the U.S.
