Johnson to launch new Mopar Avenger at Winternationals

Team Mopar driver Allen Johnson will be at the wheel of the new 2010 Pro Stock Mopar Dodge Avenger for its inaugural run at the 50th Annual Kragen O’Reilly NRHA Winternationals this weekend at Auto Club Raceway in Pomona, California.
The 2010 season marks Johnson’s 15th year on the Pro Stock Circuit. He began his career in 1996 driving a Dodge Avenger so this will be like coming home for the veteran driver. After winning the NHRA Summer Nationals in Topeka and the Mopar Mile-High NHRA Nationals in Denver, Johnson finished seventh in the 2009 points standing, his fourth consecutive top-ten finish.
“It’s a treat to still be with Mopar after all these years and also to be back in the Dodge Avenger,” said Johnson. “This new version of the Dodge Avenger puts us in a car that is going to be ultra-competitive as far as aero goes. We’re as good as the other guys. I feel like it’s the best car we’ve ever had.”
