Fiat’s 1.4 wins Engine of the Year award
65 journalists from 32 countries collectively selected the turbocharged 1.4 liter Fiat engine as this year’s Engine of the Year. They noted the engine combined power and torque with gas mileage. The engine will reportedly be available on some cars made by Chrysler in North America after its Fiat 500 debut.
The standard 1.4 MultiAir engine generates 100 hp and 95 lb-ft of torque. The turbocharger raises that level by around half.
